Built on Construction Experience

A Saskatchewan property inspection and consulting company, and part of the Halcyon Cascade Group of Companies.

Saskatchewan-based inspection company — truck, gear and prairie setting

Company Overview

Contractors Insight Inspections is a Saskatchewan-based professional property inspection and consulting company serving Regina, Regina Beach, Lumsden, White City, Emerald Park, Pilot Butte, Moose Jaw and surrounding communities.

Our goal is to provide clients with honest, detailed, unbiased inspections that help them make informed decisions. We pride ourselves on explaining issues in plain language without creating unnecessary fear, while still documenting all significant findings.

Inspections are carried out by an Architectural Building Technologist who is also an InterNACHI® Certified Professional Inspector — a combination of design training and certified inspection practice that is uncommon in this market.

We sit within the Halcyon Cascade Group of Companies, which means our inspectors come from active commercial, residential and agricultural construction rather than from a franchise training week.

Credentials

Two Qualifications, Two Different Jobs

One tells you the building was understood. The other tells you the inspection was held to a published standard. Most inspectors carry one or the other.

Architectural Building Technologist

What it is: a formal qualification in building design and construction technology — structural assemblies, building envelope and building science, mechanical and electrical systems, construction documentation and building code.

What it means for you: a building gets read as a designed assembly rather than a list of visible symptoms. Stained drywall is a symptom. Knowing whether it came from a flashing detail, a vapour barrier discontinuity, a ventilation failure or a plumbing leak is the part that determines what the repair costs you.

It also means the report speaks the same language as the drawings, the code and the contractor who will eventually do the work.

InterNACHI® Certified Professional Inspector

What it is: the CPI® credential from the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors — the largest inspection association in the world. It requires passing the InterNACHI® Online Inspector Examination, completing the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice courses, and submitting mock inspection reports for review.

What it means for you: the inspection follows a published Standards of Practice rather than whatever the inspector felt like looking at. You can read that standard yourself and hold the report to it.

It is not a one-time certificate. Maintaining it requires 24 hours of continuing education and re-passing the examination at 80% or better every three years.

Together they cover the two failure modes of a bad inspection: not recognising what you are looking at, and not looking at everything you were supposed to.

What That Combination Changes

Three places where it shows up in the work you actually receive.

1

Cause, not just symptom

Design training means a finding can usually be traced back to the assembly or detail that produced it — which is what determines the cost of the fix.

2

A scope you can audit

The InterNACHI® Standards of Practice are published. You can check what should have been inspected against what was, without taking anyone's word for it.

3

Weight in a dispute

In an insurance claim or a deficiency file, a stated professional basis for the opinion is the first thing the other side looks for.

Our Philosophy

We believe an inspection should educate clients — not scare them.

Accurate and objective

Findings reflect what was observed, not what would make a better story.

Explain why it matters

A defect without its consequence is just trivia. We give you both.

Practical recommendations

What should be done, in what order, and how urgently.

Maintenance separated from deficiency

So a caulking line is never presented as a structural problem.

Standards where they apply

Code references used correctly — and never invented to add weight.

Neither exaggerated nor minimised

We focus on evidence, not opinions. That is the entire job.

Business Values

We assume the client has little construction knowledge. Every finding explains what the issue is, why it matters, and what should be done about it.
